What to expect
Made for everyday video files.
Framepress accepts MP4, MOV, and WebM containers and exports an MP4. The browser must be able to decode the video and audio codecs inside your file.
Compression depends on the footage and settings. A file can come out larger than it started, and no preset can promise an exact file size.
Your file stays local
The video never leaves this browser.
Encoding runs on your device. We do not upload your video, file name, or thumbnail. If optional analytics are enabled, they run only after you allow them and contain no file names or video content.

Questions, answered.
How do I compress a video online?
Choose a video, select a quality preset and maximum resolution, then choose Compress video. When it finishes, compare the sizes and download the MP4.
How can I reduce a video file size without losing too much quality?
Start with Balanced and keep the original resolution. If the file is still too large, try 1080p or 720p. Smaller file uses stronger compression and can show more visible changes.
Which video formats can I compress?
You can choose MP4, MOV, or WebM files up to 100 MB. A file's video and audio codecs also need to be supported by your browser.
Does this tool upload my video?
No. The video is read and encoded in your browser. It is not sent to our servers. The compression engine is loaded only after you start compressing.
Why can the compressed video be larger than the original?
Some videos are already highly compressed. Re-encoding them can add data instead of removing it. Compare the sizes before downloading, then try another preset or resolution.
Can I compress a video to an exact file size?
This tool does not promise an exact output size. The result depends on the footage, resolution, audio, and quality setting.
